Accounting Manager

Location: Aurora, IL (Fully On-Site)

Job Type: 3-Month Contract-to-Hire

Compensation: $40-45/hour W2 (Benefits - Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, LTD Insurance) & Competitive Salary with Comprehesive Benefits

Our client, a leading manufacturing company in Aurora, IL, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager in the area to step into a hands-on role. This contract-to-perm opportunity is ideal for a professional with a strong manufacturing background and expertise in cost accounting. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the general ledger and managing financial processes to ensure smooth daily operations.

Key Responsibilities of Accounting Manager:

• Lead and execute accounting functions, including month-end close processes, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Oversee general accounting duties such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, and fixed assets.
• Partner closely with and provide leadership to two accounting staff.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance in financial reporting and analysis.
• Support cost accounting activities specific to a manufacturing environment.
• Actively manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Utilize Epicor ERP system for financial processes and reporting.
• Assist with financial consolidations using OneStream.
• Work extensively with Microsoft Office products to support accounting functions.

Qualifications of Accounting Manager:

• Proven hands-on experience with general ledger management and month-end close processes.
• Previous experience managing or mentoring accounting staff is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

• Experience in manufacturing accounting, including cost accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Epicor ERP and OneStream consolidation software is a plus.
